Mattat Salmon, also known as The Charmer, is 17, a lesbian, mostly Jamaican/Grenadian, and based in the West Midlands. Her intention when writing stories is to comfort and entertain, while bringing awareness to topics close to her heart such as sustainability and self love. All in a genre she likes to call “Bedtime Stories”.
In her opinion a story counts as a “Bedtime Stories”, if it can comfortably be read before bed. Making them beautifully comforting and funny stories without being too emotionally intense or action packed.
If you asked her about herself she’d tell you that she’s a Pisces sun, a plant mum, a cat person and a story teller. That her favourite foods are apple crumble and watermelon, her favourite author is Kalynn Bayron, and that she’d never get tired of listening to Keshi, Kehlani, Conan Gray, Burna Boy and StrayKids.
If you asked her closest friends about her they’d tell you she’s “Easy to speak to, overthinker, cares for friends really well” and “Somone who is very caring creative and stylish and pretty.”
